I started to make an album of brainwave generated pedal steel music using an EEG in Ableton Live which then opened up a lot of forgotten memories about the specific place where my brother and I learned to swim in Western Louisiana called Burns Point. I've always been a huge fan of pedal steel guitar but I never had the opportunity to learn how to play one. I'm sure that a real pedal steel player wouldn't be very impressed with the playing heard on this album but it might interest them to know it was composed as a generative neurofeedback soundscape with virual instruments being filtered and triggered by my brainwave activity instead of more traditional styles of playing/recording music.
